St. Athanasius Athletics

The St. Athanasius community supports an athletics program that provides the student-athlete many opportunities to develop his or her individual skills while contributing to a team. Our mission is to provide and establish a wholesome program that promotes sportsmanship and fair play with an emphasis on teaching character, athletic and social skills, sportsmanship and a healthy attitude.

St. Athanasius fields teams in nine CSAA sanctioned sports.
Volleyball, Football, Cheerleading, Basketball, Golf, Baseball, Softball, Soccer, Track. Many of our sports are also available for first and second grade.

Coaches: As required by the Archdiocese, all “volunteers” who have regular contact with student/athletes MUST ATTEND a Safe Environment Training workshop. Information and training dates are available at Loucsaa.org

Beginning with basketball 2009, past work fees will be credited toward your child’s sign up fees. provided that the family’s work commitment is current. Also, starting with basketball 2009, families with children in grades 3-8 will be asked to purchase uniforms. Initially, everyone will be asked to purchase uniforms. In future seasons, only children in odd grades will purchase uniforms. The work fee credit can be used toward the uniform. The approximate cost for a basketball uniform is $50. With this in mind, the booster club is reducing the sign up fee to $35 (3-8 football and cheerleading will remain $55).
