Choosing education as my career was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My formal education consists of an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Spalding College and a Master’s degree from The University of Indiana Southeast in school counseling.

Throughout my career I’ve taught many wonderful students.I’ve had the pleasure of working with cooperative parents and dedicated co-workers.

I believe that learning should be interactive and fun. Over the years, I’ve discovered games and activities that involve my students. Creative writing and research projects have always part of my lesson plans. Using a variety of methods enables me to more effectively meet the needs of my students.

My second role at St. A’s is that of school counselor. In this position, I work with individual students and with classroom groups. I use the Life Skills Program with grades 6-8 and the Good Touch, Bad Touch Program with grades K-6. I receive a great deal of satisfaction from these experiences.

I consider my family to be my greatest blessing. My son Josh is a free-lance sportswriter. He also is involved with helping mentally challenged young adults. Soon, my son and his wife, Heidi, will provide me with a much awaited experience--being a grandmother. My sisters, brother, nieces and nephews give my life joy and excitement.

So far, in the words of my son’s favorite movie, it’s been "A Wonderful Life".
