Mrs. Melinda Cecil, Computer
Mrs. Cecil is a native of North Carolina. She spent a couple years living in Hazard, Kentucky but has spent most of her life in Louisville. As a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education. She worked as an administrative assistant while earning her Master’s Degree in Secondary School Counseling from Western Kentucky University. Mrs. Cecil also has completed her Vocational Education certification. Mrs. Cecil and her husband, Jerry, have two children, Roger and Debra. Both are graduates of St. Athanasius School. Roger is a nurse at U of L Hospital and a captain with the Highview Fire District. He lives in the St. A. community. Debra is a graduate of Western Kentucky University. She is a project manager for Vincent Lighting and lives in Cincinnati, OH. Mrs. Cecil enjoys being with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys working in the yard, reading James Patterson novels, surfing the Internet, and playing with her dog, Max. She loves to have twins in her classroom since she is blessed with an identical twin. Before coming to St. Athanasius, Mrs. Cecil taught at Mercy Academy. She cherishes those years associated with the Sisters of Mercy. Although she was educated in the public schools, she embraces the philosophies and spiritual development Catholic education offers. She enjoys observing students explore, experience, and learn computer skills. She feels technology will play a major role in the success of St. Athanasius students. Students need to be taught basic skills but also taught how to handle technology in a responsible and ethical manner. |
